F/O Geoffrey Bryson Fisken DFC, RIP

New Zealand's great fighter pilot and hero Geoff Fisken passed away on Sunday 12th of June 2011, aged 96. Geoff was the top scoring fighter ace of the RNZAF and all the British Empire nations in the Pacific campaign. He scored his kills in Brewster Buffalo and Curtiss P-40 Warhawk aircraft.

RIP

Sad news indeed

Geoff was most helpful when I was researching/writing Bloody Shambles
and Buffaloes over Singapore.

RIP

What was amazing about Geoff Fisken was that he scored around half his victories in the Buffalo over Singapore late 1941/42. And outstanding effort. From memory he was the highest scoring pilot of that terrible period.

Salute!

Amazing Man

Having read Brian's book I doubt he believed in the spring of 42 that he would ever live to be 96 years old.

I suppose he had to live the life for everyone of those who went in before him.

RIP Geoff

Stig
