Info and pictures needed... BF-109G-6/R6 Lt. Gerd Hollmann - Werknr. 15534

Hello Guys!

I need everything available on this one :-)

Bf 109 G-6/R6 W.Nr. 15 534 "Gelbe 3 + I"
Lt. Gerd Hollmann, 9./JG 11
Crashed near Olst in Holland 30 July 1943

I saw some pictures on the web which suggest to be the 15534 but maybe there is more out there....

Thanks so far!

Rick

Hello Rick,

Verlustmeldung Gen.Qu. from 2 August 1943 No.44:
30.7. III./JG 11 Feindflug Ort: Nördlich Deventer, Ursache: Feindbeschuß
Bf 109 G-6 15534 gelbe 3 90%
F Lt Gerhard Hollmann vermisst.

Correction from 18 August 1943 ll): Lt Hollmann gefallen.

JFV Teil 10/III:
30.7.43 9./JG 11 Lt Gerhard Hollmann +
Luftkampf, Absturz nördlich Deventer, 90%
Bf 109 G-6 15534 gelbe 3+I.

A Bf 109 G-6 with Rüstsatz R6 (gondola-mounted MG 151/20) was a G-6, no G-6/R6.
The installation of a Rüstsatz did not result in any change in the aircraft's designation.

Regards
Leo

Hello Rick,

90% is the damage percentage - in German: Bruchprozente - as assessed by the reporting unit.
The German definition:
81-99% = Totalschaden, auf eigenem Gebiet abgestürzt
100% = Totalverlust (über See oder über feindlichem Gebiet).

In JFV Teil 10/III page 7 is a photo of a Bf 109 G-6 yellow 3+I, probably the 15534.

Regards
Leo

DANKE SEHR!
As I live near the crash location I think about planning a small search.
The area where this plane crashed was changed a lot over the last years but I hope to find something!
To be continued...

:-)

Is there any info about Gerd Hollmann available?

Age, additional info, career, kills?
