May 12, 1944 and JG Pilot loss!!!
Hello again!
For several years i have tried to find out anything about this pilot. I simply cannot find him anywhere, so help wanted please!! The matter concerned is a pilot Gefr. Ernst Eggerdinger, a pilot in a JG, who fell in aerial combat May 12, 1944, only being aged 21. Any information on this pilot will be highly appreciated. Thank You in advance! Christian

Re: May 12, 1944 and JG Pilot loss!!!
Hi, Christian
As you state his age, I guess You are working out of a prayer card as a source? As this pilot held the low rank of Gefreiter, the best tip I could give you (as you do not know his unit as of yet) is to contact the Deutsche Dienststelle(WASt) in Berlin, and ask them to dig out his personnel loss record. It would probably have information on the aircraft he flew, etc It would be wise to wait a while though and see if there are others on this board which have already recorded this loss, read about it in a book or otherwise have the information You want. There are 100+ aircraft losses for the fighter units of the Luftwaffe on this date. Not that many personnel losses, but a fair number of them also... Regards, Andreas |

Thank You Andreas!
You are right about the prayer card. I collect these and have done so for several years. It is fascinating to find out the stories connecting to these cards and i have been helped a lot on this board. Only this one, which actually started it all, have i never been able to crack!! Thank You again Christian
