Brian,

KG4 losses for this raid were covered by Peter following your thread dated 31-3-2010, is this another one or is the date correct there were more KG4 losses a week later,

All the Best

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Hi Brian

The 2./KG4 loss, as far as I am aware, FTR from a sortie to Middlesborough (whereas the other losses you mention were as a result of raids over East Anglia). It seems that it to fell to the combined forces of two Spitfires, AA fire and a barrage balloon cable!!

Cheers
Brian

PS: Did you notice my other recent request for details of He111 and Ju87 claimed by a Hampden on the night of 12/13 June 1940? Any ideas?

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Brian,

there was no 2./KG4 loss in this night. One He 111 of I./KG4 returned damaged in 60% after being hit by flak over East England.

Regards

Robert

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

And the He 111 bomber claimed in the night of 12/13.6.40 was from 2./KGr.126. It crash-landed and was damaged in 90%.
A claim for Ju 87 is a complete nonsence.

Robert

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Hi Robert & Brian

On rechecking my notes, it would appear that the He111 of 2./KG4 FTR the following night, i.e 19/20 June (not 18/19th).

Robert - do you have details of crew of the 2./KGr.126 Heinkel?

Cheers
Brian

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Hi Brian,

there is nothing for this night apart one He 111 of III./KG27 being damaged by flak and He 111 from stab/KG4 that was badly damaged by Spitfire of 222 Sqn and b/l.
As for a crew of 2./KGr126 - 5 WIA.

Regards

Robert

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Hi Robert

Sorry to keep pressing you but what more can you tell me about the Stab/KG4 Heinkel that belly-landed on 19/20 June?

Where did it belly-land? England or back in France? Any information on crew?

Cheers
Brian

Re: He111 2./KG4 FTR 18/19 June 1940

Brian,

All I have noted is on the 20th a He111 of Stab/KG4 crash-landed Kelingholms-Hauen with 60% damage following fighter attack with unnamed Bm lightly wounded. Plus Bf Fw Heinz Schafer of 6/KG4 wounded in stomach following N/F attack, Heinkel probaly landed at Lille,

Regards
