60 & 64TCG in "Torch"
Hi,
Anything known of the C-47's used in Operation "Torch" by the 60 & 64 TCG ? In particular the identities of the a/c used by each Group and in particular those that were lost . 60th from Cornwall 39 a/c to La Senis on the 7th November and 64th from Cornwall 39 a/c on the 9th November '42. 60TCG 3 a/c landed in Spain (one left her troops there and continued on to Algier's. 2 a/c landed in French Maroco. 1 a/c diverted to Gibraltar. French Fighters forced 3 a/c to land end route. 2 a/c crash landed. 3 a/c forced 3 a/c to crash. 14 a/c lost , serial numbers ? 64TCG Only 34 a/c made it to LA Xenia on the 11th November. So 5 a/c lost, serial numbers ?. So quite a few losses from both Groups but not much info available as far as I can find. Ref: David Isby - Osprey Combat Aircraft 54. Thanks Alex |

Thank you Frank and Zoran,
Have four possible crew names for a loss but were they in 41-18355 or another C-47 ? Alex Last edited by Alex Smart; 21st December 2020 at 16:17. |
