Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Hi guys,
It works! Rare serie for a short lived unit. And, at last, a true explanation for this emblem. |

Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Hi Gents,
OK, I redo it: All the photos sold by Macfly come, apparently, from one unique photo album. It is said that they have been taken during summer/herbst 1941 in Mödchengladbach, home of short lived 4./JFS 4. Erg.JGr. Merseburg was disbanded in November 1940. Here, we are facing a full batch of pictures, well documented. Just one question: Who got the idea that this emblem was Erg.JGr. Merseburg? What are the references? I'm not in the "dream team", and will never be but, at least, I deserve to receive a fair explanation. Regards, Franck. |

Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Hi Gents,
I was waiting a fair comment. Didn't come!.. Anyway, don't rush I know the answer. I have the Karl Ries books but obviously he was wrong. .... Thanks Franck for your help, you aren't bad. You're welcome Franck but with that batch it was obvious there was something wrong. Best regards, Franck. |

Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Hello Franck,
This emblem was recently discussed on LEMB. The emblem was identified as ErgJGrMerseburg on page 170 "Die Flugzeugfuhrer Ausbildung der Deutchen Luftwaffe Band II" by Sven Carlsen & Michael Meyer , VDM, 2000. The eBay seller Macfly is Michael Meyer but Sven Carlsen has said that that identification is now known to be incorrect although it was influenced by Karl Riese "DK und Rt 13". It is definately 4(eins)/JFS4 as captioned by Michael and was never carried by ErgJGr Merseburg. When the latter unit was disbanded its aircraft were randomely distributed among the Erg Staffeln, so there is no direct connection between ErgJGr Merseburg and JFS4. Regards Peter |

Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Ni Hao Peter,
Ni Hao Ma? Well you're there when I just came back from a 15 months stay in Nanshà .... Funny. 1/ Thank you. 2/ Of course. 3/ I'm not surprise about the eBay seller; too much détails at each auctions. I thought it was another one than him.... 4/ EJGr. Merseburg was Under I./JG 3 command and 4./JFS 4 was created 6 months later .. I never imagined that the second received former planes, believe me. Regards, Franck. |

Re: eBay: Bf 109 4./JFS 4 plus emblem!!
Hello Guys,
Back on this batch. Just a little but important (?) comment: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Luftwaff...item58a27aa920 "Weisse 30" is a Bf 109 C-3 not a D-1 as written by "Macfly". It almost did escape me!.. Sorry, now it's correct. Already sold out. Check quickly. Regards, Franck. |
