November 25, 1943 – RAF or USAAF mission over Central France?
Hello/Bonjour,
On November 25, 1943, during an air-raid warning on the Bourges airfield, Stabszahmeister Eugen Boll was killed when its motorbike collided with another driven by Uffz. Nietzsche who was for its part seriously injured. I assume that it is like looking “for a needle in a haystack” but I try to identify the Allied unit (USAAF or RAF) which was on the Bourges-Avord area that day around 19h30 (7:30 pm) - German time. I am thinking rather to an RAF Squadron fitted with Mosquitoes, Squadrons who are accustomed to these airspace. I thank you beforehand for your assistance in my research work... Best regards, Frederic |
