eArticle available: 'Hans-Ulrich Rudel's Lucky Moment'

Dear fellow researchers and enthusiasts

We are happy to announce the launch of our new eArticle by Mihai Pica and Christian Greiner.
They have written a 23-page article that tells the story of the daring low-level USAAF raid on the Luftwaffe airfield - Reghin - deep in Romania on 31 August 1944. The raid was made in support of Operation Reunion, an airlift to evacuate Allied prisoners from Bucharest. Within two days of the Americans identifying the important target, a mission was planned and executed, to suppress Luftwaffe forces at Reghin airfield that could potentially endanger the airlift. This article contains fifteen photos, three aircraft profiles, one colour map, several first-hand accounts from the men involved, and four appendices.

You can find the article in our web shop: LINK

We hope you will enjoy it!
Take care and stay healthy!

All the best
The Air War Publications Team

Re: eArticle available: 'Hans-Ulrich Rudel's Lucky Moment'

Many of us are interested by claim versus reality and the Distinguished Unit Citation often made for very interesting case of study, this one being no exception. The absence of flak and the quick photograph of the attacking Mustangs taken from the ground made me think of a similar event when in Autumn 1944 the 355th FG destroyed dozens of Bf 109s of JG 300.
Another nice article to wait for Air War Publications' next book.
