Sky Lancers 2 march 1956 - september 2021
Hi,
This Monday 20 september 2021 I attended a tribute to four RCAF pilots of the Sky Lancers on F-86 Sabre. It had been intended to hold this event on last March 2021, but the event was unfortunately cancelled in connection with covid. Today a moving ceremony was held at Choloy-Ménillot (CWGC) cemetary to commerate four Sky Lancers pilots killed while training at Kertzfeld (Bas-Rhin) on March 2 ,1956. The four pilots remembered were F/O Jake Adam (444 sqdn), Dale McLarty (414 Sq), Fred Astell (422 Sq) and Ed Welters (414 Sq). All now rest in the cemetary of Choloy-Ménillot. The ceremony was organised by Col. Pierre Alain Antoine and was accompanied by a fly over of the Patrouille de France. Attachment 20944 Attachment 20945
