Help please with information on 4/Jg52 pilot Georg Mayr

Hi
Would anyone have any information (especially photos) in regard to 4/Jg52 Luftwaffe pilot Geor Mayr? and his aircraft a Me109F2 Werk number 6721.

As im trying to build up as much information on this airman who participated in military operations over England in 1941 also took part in the Soviet German front.

He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd degree collecting 2 victories over England and 3 victories on the Eastern front.

The reason being i have acquired some relics from his aircraft where he sadly met his end. one fascinating item being a horse cut from a piece of very thin metal similar to a coke can that was found in the wreckage maybe a mascot who knows.

Any information to help piece together his story would as ever be very much appreciated.

Hi
Thanks for both your replies in regard to Georg Mayr i managed to get the same information but also like to obtain some photos but looks like it may be a tough call.

Would anyone have any Jg52 books with possible references to Georg Mayr and aircraft?

There are a number of photos of 4./JG 52 and their aircraft in Jochen Prien's "Der Jagdfliegervebände..." but no mention or picture of Mayr

There is a photo of Georg Mayr on page 57 in the book Die Geschichte der II Grupp des Jagdgeschwaders 52, by Bernd Barbas. ISBN: 3-923457-71-5.

Hi nattuppen
that is very pleasing to hear, as have tried numerous ways to find a photo of Georg Mayr.

Thank you for your much valued reply.
Brad.
