8./K.G. Hindenburg 1. Crew.

Hi
I am trying to find out the rest of the crew who flew with
Unteroffizer Hans Scheuenstuhl and what happened to them
All I know is they flew in aircraft V4+AS
Any help is greatly appriciated.

Hello Steve. This info is found in deZeng and Stankey's Luftwaffe Officers' Career Summaries for Michael HERMANN -

05.07.43 Hptm. and Staka 8./KG 1 KIA – in Ju88 A-14 (V4+AS) shot down by ground fire vicinity Malo Archangelsk while attacking targets S of Orel and bailed out. Advancing troops found the crew murdered. [Version 2 is that the bombload detonated due to a direct AA hit.] Crew buried at Ssaborowka, 70 km S of Orel.

That doesn't necessarily mean your man was part of the crew at that time.

Thanks for the information I managed to get more names of the crew and the Name you mentioned isnt among them
I will try and see if my guy was in another aircraft.

He was also awarded the German Cross in Gold on the 28th April 1943.

5.7. 8./KG 1 Feindflug Ort: Unbekannt, Ursache: Explosion in der Luft
Ju 88 A-14 4659 V4+AS 100%
F Oblt Michael, Hermann (Staffelkapitän) gefallen
B Fw Hurler, Max gefallen
Bf Fw Güller, Günther gefallen
Bs Uffz Achenbach, Heinz vermisst.

I have been informed by my source that my guy was on this aircraft and has been missing with the rest of his crew.
He sent me a letter he got from the geschwader association in 1995 .. when he researched the crew.
