Re: First name needed for 13 Sqn A/Ground crew - 1940

Hello all,

Some first names and ranks needed for 13 Sqn members from 1940, who were Air Gunner trade. I have tried to do the PRO way, but a complete biff at it!

- Cpl Dunhill
- L.A.C Dring
- -- Edwards
- -- Baines
- -- Waterhouse

Thanks for your time and help on this plea.

Cheers,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Here are the names. I found these, or rather their service numbers, in the 13 Squadron Appendices of which there are no less than five - lucky you - covering the period you are interested in. Online too at TNA. Then using the London Gazette and the CWGC websites I was able to obtain their full names, etc.

535069 Alfred Dunhill Commissioned 1943
935424 Donald Dring Commissioned 1944
533590 George Alfred Edwards KIA 17-4-1942
940787 Murray Ronald Braines KIA 3-10-1943
937265 John Eric James Waterhouse DFM and commissioned March 1943.

Hope this helps,

Martin Gleeson.

Thanks mate, perfect, I am going to have to try this way you have mentioned. Dring often flew as Alfred Balls Airgunner.

Cheers

Danny
