Alfred Price
Hi,
Is anyone able to provide me with Alfred Price's current email address (or failing that, his postal address)? Thanks to anyone who can help. Please contact me off-board, via PM or my email address: bookie190@hotmail.com. Cheers, Andrew A. Air War Publications - www.airwarpublications.com |

Re: Alfred Price
Andrew
Not sure what you are after but Alfred is not in the best of health & in any case as given away all of his material. I have all his Luftwaffe photos and others such as Peter Arnold & Andy Saunders have more |

Re: Alfred Price
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry to read that Alfred is not well. I was interested in obtaining a full copy of the transcript of his interview with Werner Gail (III./Schlachtgeschader 3), and copies of any of Gail's photographs he may have had (one Gail photograph appeared in Alfred's book Focke-Wulf 190 at War). Re: Alfred Price
I might have the transcript somewhere & if there were any more Gall photos, I would have them trouble is Alfred's rarely put details on the back of photos

Re: Alfred Price
He'd interviewed Altrogge at some point and material appeared in his books. Re "Fw 190 at War", I approached AP about 25 years ago regarding an NSG 9 pilot he'd featured but even then he no longer had contact details or anything like that, just what was in the book.

Re: Alfred Price
Hi Chris/Nick,
I'm indeed looking for early I./KG66 material such as the Do 217 E/K/M and early Ju 188 E and for info about Hans Altrogge himself. (In fact, Altrogge was involved in this period as he joined I./KG66 almost from the beginning.) To my knowledge, Alfred Price was the first researcher to contact/interview Hans Altrogge and at a time when Altrogge was still relatively young. (I met him when he was in his late 70s.) Price was stationed as an officer with RAF Germany (RAF Laarbruch? RAF Bruggen?) at the time IIRC from Altrogge during our own interview. As I started relatively late with the LW hobby, I'm not familiar with Price's earlier work and therefore don't know the books/bits of interview Nick refers to. I would be very interested in having these fragments or the original/complete interview (if that survived) of course. (Chris, any idea?) I'm aware of the few (and often published) pictures of the Ju 188 E with Y-Antenna on top of the canopy and the gun turret removed which are apparently coming from Altrogge via Price. (I would be very interested to hear what the actual captions are, though..) Any new Altrogge pictures would be great, I never completely figured out what actually remained as Altrogge had his own, strong ideas what kind of pictures researchers should be interested in ! (Altrogge was clearly not a modeler ..) Thanks in advance, Marcel Last edited by Marcel van Heijkop; 13th May 2015 at 14:45. Reason: addition |

Marcel
Contact me direct-I have sorted the Do 217 and Ju 188 photos and there are a few S-3 photos. Documents wise, I will have to dig even deeper |
