RAF Airstrikes in Op Neptune

I'm looking for both fast rough and top source information on the airstrikes in support of the Britsh operations on 6th June. I have at this point a few bits on the USAAF strikes in the Brtish areas but nothing on what the RAF was up to. Anything is welcome from thumbnail summaries, links to internet sources, and of course the titles of top quality books and where one should look in the British military archives.

Thanks for any information on this subject.

Re: RAF Airstrikes in Op Neptune

Thanks Steve. That looks like a very good start. Perhaps a finish if it has detailed information for the quantity and accuracy of the bombs.

Are there any other recomendations or opinions here?

One specific question. I noticed medium bombers of the US 9th Bomber Division/9th Air Force attacked several target groups in the British sector on 6th June. Any one know of the reasons behind this?
