Re: JG 77 victories

09 Sep 1942
Lt. Horst Marotzke 7./JG 77 claimed a LaGG-3 (25) 08:55 at PlQu. 20113. This was while III/JG 77 was attached to JG 54 in the Leningrad area.

The 279 IAD had the fighters from the 845 IAP covering the front line in the regions of Mga - Naziya - Zhikharevo. AE commander Kapt. Fedor Filippovich Bendyug from the 845 IAP was flying Yak-7B (# 2566) when he went MIA after an air battle. His aircraft and remains were found in Sep 2005 at Zales'e between Vol'kovo and Khotovo.

Re: JG 77 victories

19 July 1942
Kapt. Ivan Dmitrievich Ivanov (1 AE commander) 723 BAP led a bombing raid on German mechanized units at Podkletnoe. On their return they were attacked by 3 "He-113" and three Pe-2 were shot down.
Pe-2 723 BAP Kapt. Ivanov and the gunner-radio operator (KIA)
Pe-2 723 BAP Ml. Lt. Efrom Timofeevich Grachev (MIA)
Pe-2 723 BAP Ml. Lt. Aleksandr Zakharovich Suraenko (MIA)

4/JG 77 Fw. Maximilian Volke Pe-2 (8) 06:22 & Pe-2 (9) 06:23
4/JG 77 Fw. Ernst-Wilhelm Reinert Pe-2 (80) 06:24 & Pe-2 (81) 06:35
Considering only three Pe-2 were shot down and there is no locations given it is hard to determine who over claimed here or if Reinert just found another Pe-2 in the 11 minutes between his last kill.

19 July 1942
Pe-2 24 BAP Lt. Buchalyy (Bailed) and 2 crew KIA.
6/JG 77 Fw. Franz Schulte Pe-2 (37) 10:25 no location

Re: JG 77 victories

Just building on what Nokose has submitted:

Lost to fighters this date was 366 BAP, crew of Lt. Ivan Fedorovich Korotkikh (were 366 BAP operating further north, out of JG77's aera of operations or is there a chance this was Reinert's 'extra' victory…?)

For those seeking further info on the Soviet personnel losses, one of the 723 BAP crewmen was gunner St.Serzhant Nikolay Fedorovich Khlebnov KIA

Re: JG 77 victories

Here is a link to the recovery of Pe-2 (#14/78) 723 BAP of Ml. Lt. E.T. Grachev's aircraft. The remains of the crew have not been recovered yet (You can see why.). The aircraft was Identified by the serial numbers of the engines. http://www.ntv.ru/novosti/1272305/ It was recovered to the northwest of the city of Voronezh.

Re: JG 77 victories

Nick,
Lt. I.F. Korotkikh 366 BAP was shot down and killed on 09 July 1942 in the region of Lisichansk further south in the sector of the 4 VA. Probably by 5./JG 52 Lt. Heinz Schmidt who seems to be the only one making a claim for a Pe-2 (46) 12:14 that day in the south.
