Seaplanes will become famous soon enough
Heinkel He 59D W.Nr. 931

Can someone confirm if this aircraft was given the civil registration D-AXAL or D-APUH. I would go for the latter.

Re: Heinkel He 59D W.Nr. 931

I have for the registration D-APUH the WNr. 931 and no WNr. for D-AXAL.

Seaplanes

I have a note that He 59 D-AXAL was lost 20/7/40

On LW-zur-see list c/n 2870 was lost on this date

Maybe this was it?

Regards

Tony

Re: Heinkel He 59D W.Nr. 931

To Tony: He 59E W.Nr. 2870 was serving, first with K.G.z.b.V.108 and then from 19 June 1940 until its fatal acident, with the reformed 1./K.Gr.z.b.V.108. Consequently no civil Seenotdienst registration for this one. I have myself never found the W.Nr. for D-AXAL.

So I agree with Merlin on W.Nr. 931 as D-APUH.

Thanks to both of you.

RT is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Heinkel He 59D W.Nr. 931

2870 loss 100 % with 1./K.Gr.z.b.V.108 place unknown

D-AXAL loss 40 % with Seenotfl. Kdo 3 in List
