Wayne C Presley
John Howard Anderson Lemuel Doty Cooke Larry Henry Englade Clifford Kent Spaulding Richard Wesley Moore Paul Beaumont Leland Baucom Cornell David V Senft Charles William Hagans Clifford Arthur Gartrell The surname Gargans does not appear on any of my lists Most often appearing is VF-38, but other squadrons creep in, VF-6, VBF-17, VF-20, VC-20, VF-33. Anderson was first CO of VF-38. No info on fates. |

Thanks for that. Makes things a lot easier to do the research when you have the full names. Still cannot find anything more on Capt Richard Wesley Moore - career USN regards Mark |

Re: List of Navy pilots 1943-44
In contact with nearly all of the families above.
We know know the recently recovered Hellcat 25910 from Lake Michigan flew from July 1943 until at least January 1944 with VF-38 - island hoping delivered by USS Capahee and had a number of launches/landings on USS Breton as well. Both small carriers used to deliver aircraft and supplies to the Pacific during this period. Have a few more names but no ranks or initials. Though relatively unusual names. Holden Soule Lt (jg) Kelly Any possibilities would be a great help. |

Re: List of Navy pilots 1943-44
P. Beaumont is probably my step father, Paul (NMI) Beaumont, who enlisted on 12/6/41 and became an F-6 pilot. He did several WWII cruises, including one on the new Lexington. He received several purple hearts. He remained in the USNR after the war, and was reactivated for Korea as an instructor pilot which he said "was my most dangerous mission." He retired as a CDR, and died of cancer 12/11/02. I would like to hear from any with whom he served.

Tom
You need to speak to William Saltzman - your Father or Uncle as I am in contact ith him. Have been trying to speak to Donald, Sally, Susan or Sharon - step-Uncles or Aunts but without success. You are correct - Cdr Paul Beaumont flew with VF-38 and I am hoping he flew Hellcat 25910. Will send you a personal email. regards Mark |

Ens James H Hughens VF-33 Rich (Leonard), you might know? regards Mark |
