Lancaster ND523 crash location sought.

Hi folks, please can anyone pin-point the crash site of 7 Sqadron PFF Lancaster ND523?

It was shot down over Frankfurt am Main on 22 March 1944.

The text I have says:
"Intercepted at 17,600 feet by a night-fighter while approaching target and set on fire. managed to clear the target area but within seconds of ordering his crew to bale out, the Lancaster went into a spin and exploded."

I would be really grateful if someone has more details.

regards
Robert

Re: Lancaster ND523 crash location sought.

Following link names "Sprendlingen" as the place it came down.

http://www.lostaircraft.com/database...ewentry&e=101#

As source it names

WR Chorley
Bomber Command Losses 1944
Seite 122, 4. Eintrag
ISBN 0904597911

and

Aufzeichnungen von G. Lerch zum Luftkrieg über Frankfurt

I know of some books that G. Lerch wrote about the air raids on Frankfurt. Not sure whether that is meant by the "Aufzeichnungen" or what source this sould be.

Cheers,

Guenter
