10/JG51, 26thNovember 1940.
Hi,
Can anyone confirm the location, time and squadron of who shot him down, of the following crash: 26th November 1940. 10/JG51. Messerschmitt Bf109E (2052). Sortie to England. Crashed in the Channel off Hastings, East Sussex. Fw. Adolf Rosen (FF) killed (Buried at Bourdon, France, dated 28.11.1940). Aircraft white 8+ lost. Another source (Rye's Own Magazine) says: "A Bf109, shot down after combat over the Maidstone area, crashed in the Channel between Rye and Camber. The pilot Fw. Rosen was killed". Thanks, Steve

Re: 10/JG51, 26thNovember 1940.
Only claims were for 2 Bf 109s by Christie & Cook of 66 Sqn Maidstone area 1400 hrs. Only one Bf 109 lost that day

Re: 10/JG51, 26thNovember 1940.
Thank you Chris, that does fit with the report of combat in the Maidstone area, and Rosen was the only Bf109 loss that day. Pity combat reports don't say where his aircraft crashed.
Any idea why this post has been moved to "Allied and Soviet Air Forces" ?

Re: 10/JG51, 26thNovember 1940.
I believe it has been moved because the question is about the RAF claims not Luftwaffe losses per se
