Recon mission of 59 Sqn on 11.8.40
Hi all,
I think that will be my last question concerning 11.8.40: which fighter sqn was escorting Blenheim of 59 Sqn on recon mission to Le Havre? Many thanks in advance. Best regards Robert

Hello Robert,
I hope you are keeping well. The escort was provided by a section of three Blenheim IVFs from 235 Squadron; N3540/X (F/O Peacock), N3533/Q (Sgt. Sutton) and L9252/U (Sgt. Naughtin). The rear gunners claimed one Bf 109 shot down between them and another was driven off believed to have been damaged. From the 235 Sqn. ORB (AIR 27/1442). Best wishes for 2024. Martin Gleeson.
