Thanks Scott, those are the photos. Looking carefully at them and at Revi's link, I think the window may actually just be pushed free once the top is released from the inside. There may not be a hinge at the bottom but just a clip the holds the bottom of the window in-place. That would also seem to be in line with the
"knock-out panel" description Mike found. |

Well, that link shows what I saw before - black picture frames.
I guess it's to do with my location? Correct IMHO, Rolland, undo the locking knob, slide device forward to disengage from the three pegs, the panel then simply pushes out and falls. There are small overhangs inside left & right, and one external outside along the bottom. Fairly typical British design, multiple parts and half a box of rivets. This is obviously why there are no external pics of the panel partly open, as is often seen on other aircraft. I only hope that I can do it all justice in my replica. |
