Need some help RE: 'British' names...

Guys:

I figure if anyone can help me you guys can; I've been reading about the Air War over Malta & came across a couple of UNUSUAL "British" name characteristics:
It's the "ggo" that's part of a surname; for example there was a Malta based Pilot named "Daddo-Langlois", who was a Channel Islander; another pilot named "Leggo" who was from Rhodesia and an Australian actor who's last name is also "Daddo"; what's the 'origin/background' of these names?
Can anyone tell me?

Thanks ahead of time

NickM
