Fate of Bf110C-6's
Greetings gents!
Just of interest, I try to track down a fates of following 12 aircrafts. Found already a fate of some, but still more unknown: 1 aircraft built in May 1940 on GWF factory: Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2152, "S9+MN" from 5./SKG210 didnt returned from combat mission on 16.12.41, 100% lost 5 aircrafts built in May 1940 on GWF factory (W.Nr. is uncertain, somewhere in block 2148-2174): Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 21?? - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 21?? - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 21?? - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 21?? - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 21?? - fate unknown 6 aircrafts in July 1940 on GWF factory: Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2249, "S9+SP" from 6./ZG1 was shot down by Soviet AA fire on 27.02.42, 100% lost Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2250, "S9+??" from II./ZG1 crash-landed due to bad weather on 24.02.42, 40% damaged Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2251 - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2252 - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2253 - fate unknown Bf110C-6 W.Nr. 2254, "S9+AM" from 4./SKG210 didn't returned from combat mission on 18.10.41, 100% lost ******************************* Aircrafts, found in losslists but with unknown W.Nr. : Bf110C-6 W.Nr. ????, "2N+?H" from 1./Erpr.Gr210 was shot down by RAF fighters on 30.7.40, 100% lost Bf110C-6 W.Nr. ????, "2N+RH" from 1./Erpr.Gr210 was damaged by RAF fighters on 29.7.40, damage state unknown. Bf110C-6 W.Nr. ????, "S9+?H" from 1./Erpr.Gr210 was shot down by RAF fighters on 11.8.40, 100% lost Bf110C-6 W.Nr. ????, "S9+?H" from 1./Erpr.Gr210 was shot down by RAF fighters on 11.8.40, 100% lost Bf110C-6 W.Nr. ????, "S9+TH" from 1./Erpr.Gr210 was shot down by RAF fighters on 15.8.40, 100% lost ************ Also, found a "ghost" of 3 Bf110C-6, coded 3U+XS, 3U+YS, 3U+ZS of 8./ZG26, but again unknown fate. From Flugzeugbestand und Bewegungsmeldungen III./ZG26, wich show only from 3.42, is seemd that 2 of those 3 a/c still served from 3.42. So it mean (if there in fact were 3 Bf110C-6's), that 1 of them was lost before march 1942. 2nd was lost due to non-combat reason in April 1942, and last - in June 1942, again due to non-combat reason. Does anybody have additional info?
