A ?? RE: Neil Page's new book

Gang:

I just picked up Neil Page's 'Luftwaffe Fighters: Combat On All Fronts Pt1 at my local Barnes and Noble; so far I am enjoying what I'm reading and presumably there will be a Pt2 and maybe more. It seems he focused on Me109 equipped units (and somewhat less well known pilots and theaters) in this first volume.

I was wondering if subsequent issues are going to look into the FW190 equipped units.

Thanks, ahead of time.

Nick, there are some Fw pilot accounts in the last third of this volume 1.

Ah thanks...I thought it was unit type/specific. Anyway, I'm reading it at the office and had just started it when the New Year's Holiday began. To be continued=soon.

Happy New Year's Y'all.

OK; I hope to be done with it before Volume 5 of Chris Shores' et al's Med Air War arrives.

Hi Nick, thanks for your comments! Yes that was/is the plan, insofar as there was a 'plan'. More 'new' Fw 190 material in Part II..

Just to add to what Nick said:

Neil's new book is a well-researched, high-quality publication that's a pleasure to read. Its eleven chapters are wide-ranging -- each describes a particular unit, pilot, aircraft or campaign. The narratives contain many personal accounts from lesser-known aces and ordinary Jagdflieger, with interesting insights about pilots, aircraft handling, armament, tactics, and operational conditions.

Now you too can find out why Werner Mölders sounded so distinctive over the radio, why some of the Messerschmitt staff at Regensburg had a poor opinion of Adolf Galland, who was flying the Me 410 that was photographed banking away from the B-17 "Lady Godiva", and what it was like trying to fly out of Courland on May 8th, 1945.

At 130 pages, it's an excellent value. It's profusely illustrated with excellent, well-captioned photographs, and even includes a glossary and a mini German grammar guide.

Highly recommended! I'm very much looking forward to more volumes like this.

Disclaimer: I don't know Neil Page from Adam. I just like his books.

Thank you Leon, that's very kind. I had a hunch it would be right up your street.

Just ordered my copy last night; if the USPS gets their act together I should have it early next week.
