TBM-3 Avenger Serial 23475 - any info?
Hey guys...
I'm curious if anyone has info on this bird? I could find info on 23474 and 23476...just not this one. TIA Mike

BuNo 23475 served with VT47, VC70 and VT8 while they were training in the Hawaiian area 1944/5. It was stricken as surplus on 31 December 1945

Cause of loss on 29 Dec 1944 of BuNo 23475 is described in the December 1944 War Diary of USS Makassar Strait (CVE-91) here: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/139811204?objectPage=18 Going thru that month, it sure wasn't the only mishap... Regards, Leendert
