Re: Osprey Fw 200 Combat Units

I'm wondering if you will have much information on the conventional bombing missions flown by Fw 200s during the BoB. A very minor part of the history of the aircraft I know and I've seen it touched on in other books without a lot of detail but given the depth you're going into, have you much on the subject? Looking forward to the publication eagerly!

Re: Osprey Fw 200 Combat Units

The answer is yes. I have written about attacks against land targets at night by I./KG 40 at the end of Aug 40 and then again in November-December 1940. There were around 10 aircraft involved total but the crew names are known for the latter attacks. However, they flew individually at night so talk of massed attacks against land targets in daylight are still wishful thinking!

First draft of the Classic book now finished-83,000 words and initial photo count 650. Both will no doubt go up before it is finalised

Re: Osprey Fw 200 Combat Units

Quick question on the Classic tittle. Just curious why they commissioned a new book with new author on an aircraft with an established place in a longstanding series.

Latest update is the book is being laid out as I write which will be finished end of this month and should be on the shelves end of this Summer. 90,000 words and up to 700 photos. Appendices include executive officers, RK winners, DKiG winners, losses, shipping successes 1940, shipping successes 1941-44, encounters with Allied aircraft. Book will be published under my name alone
