Re: New book - Group Captain Bertie Hoare, RAF

Congratulations! The cover is wonderful. A trully tribute to a forgotten hero...and remembering that this started with a previous thread of mine down here at Toch, remembering one of the RAF Heroes that did not had, until now, a decent biography....

OBS: If memory does not fail me, the DSO precedes the DFC either on the name of the person who holds both, but also talkinb about the ribbons that must be sewed onto the RAF Service and Battle Dress. Are you able to correct that, either on the tittle and the ribbons showing at the cover????

Adriano

That is a good spot Adriano-DSO before DFC! Big howler on that cover then. Furthermore, from what I can see he never shot down a He 111 while flying a Mosquito?

Well done Danny!

Look forward to reading it and adding it to the collection. Interesting subject matter.

Cover is no sweat as long as it's not already being printed. Easily remedied!

Congrats again!

Re: New book - Group Captain Bertie Hoare, RAF

Thanks all for your kind words .... and observation which I have had amended on the cover by the publishers.

Chris, I hope all is good mate. Bertie did claim a a few He111 results, granted little information on these, apart from the damaged on the 13 Sep

1941
03/04 May 1x He 111 Destroyed
13 Sep 1x He 111 Destroyed
13 Sep 1x He 111* Damaged

Thanks again guys.

Cheers

Danny

Danny: Fine here and hope you are too. Still serving? Aware of his claims via Aces High but the claims you list were with him flying a Blenheim, not Mosquito?
