Richard Eger's Luftwaffe Archive & Records Reference Group website

Gents,

I was intending to access the late Richard Eger's LWARRG site today and discovered it was unavailable. I recall chatting with Richard early in March of this year and he stated his intent was to keep it going after he passed away. Sadly, with his increasingly serious health challenges, he knew this was coming though had done significant work to ensure his vast collection of documents and the like was to be moved to an appropriate museum for eventual access to fellow researchers.

Does anyone have details on the LWARRG and ultimate location of his collection?

Many thanks,

David

His physical collection went to the Museum of Flight in Seattle as far as I am aware.

I'm not sure if he made any plans for lwag.org to remain online.

No one has contacted me after he passed, but his wish was that all documents would be sent to Seattle.

David -

He did find a repository to take his collection but for the life of me I cannot recall with certainty where it is, although I keep thinking it has something to do with the State of Washington. He was working with someone out there that is involved in restoring Me 262s or building flyable replicas of Me 262s. Does that make any sense? I should have paid more attention, but then at 80 the old memory cells are dying off pretty fast now.

Let us know what you find out.

Cheers,

The only Me 262 being restored to flyable condition is with the Heritage Museum in Seattle. The money behind this comes from Paul Allen. Two different museums....
