Big Marge 41-28920 Gabor
Gabor
I noted your contribution to 376th BG. Pse note that Sierk was on "D" Flight to Constanza when the aircraft was hit and diverted to Sevastopol Mayak Airfield . The crew photo with Avdeev Naval Air Fleet ace was taken few days later . The Soviets did not retain the bomber , the bomber did not carry any PR crew to Russia and all were fortunate to get out of troubles by June 23. What is not clear is when and where this Lib was hit and by whom. Later on Avdeev was reprimanded for over friendly gesture for handing over to Sierk a VMF crest which Sierk pinned on his uniform, though given his record Avdeev remained unscaved ( check attachment ) I have some 10 photos from the Naval Archives in Sevastopol but I retain them for a planned book which due various reasons is on delay status . As into your A-20 book let me know where I can buy it BR Alex K Last edited by researcher111; 23rd June 2018 at 23:24. |
