Egon Mayer:31/12/1943

Hello All

Where is his 90th "Abschuss" located? one B-24
According to tony Wood:Quadrat AE-9 12h18 Sud Albi
A well-known website locates it:Melun (Paris region)!!....really the big "Gap"!
Others are silent about the place.

Second "hic":no B-24 (and B-17) lost in the Albi region!
and also no B-24 (and B-17) lost in the Melun region!

The majority lost in Bordeaux/Cognac/Saintes/Les Landes.....Brittany.

Best Regards
Michel

Re: Egon Mayer:31/12/1943

Hello Michel,

AE-9 in the Paris region is located in the Quadrat 04 Ost N.
AE-9 over the Atlantic is located either in the Planquadrat 14 West N or in the Planquadrat 14 West S.

Regards
Leo

Re: Egon Mayer:31/12/1943

Hi Leo

Well:its claim can only be in the Paris region:;Quadrat AE-9=Melun,the Stab/JG2 being based on Cormeilles (near Paris),unless I'm mistaken.

So,his 90th claim is unfounded:I am quite curious to know how she was approvedn the basis of what?

Regards
Michel

In the grid introduced from 1 June 1943 there is an AE in Square 04 West Süd that includes Albi.

Yes,I know (I have the map "Gradnetz"),but it does not "stick" with his claim.
Albi is near Castres/ Toulouse.
No plane shot down in that region(B-24,B-17).
