That could be it....possible the "5" is in-fact there due to it being a A-5?

Re: Fw190 A5 W. Nr 52643 - Info needed

The complete Werknummer is 0152643.
"015" stands for the A-5 variant
"2" stands for AGO, Oschersleben production site ("0" = Focke-Wulf, "5" and "6"= Arado, "7" = Fieseler)
"643" is the running production number of AGO, regardless which variant (starting with A-2 #051)
Focke-Wulf used to omit the "0" in most cases; the other producers used 4-digit Werknummern on the tailfin.
It seems to me the digit concerning the type was added in the repair shops for easier recognition of the type for easier maintenance. Remember, there was no distinction of type. Airframe Fw 190A-4 WNr. (014)2520 StKz. TF+LJ built by AGO was followed by Fw 190A-5 WNr. (015)2521 StKz. TF+LK by the same producer.

This system was abolished in Summer '43 when the six-digit WNr. system was generally introduced.

Hope this helps

Re: Fw190 A5 W. Nr 52643 - Info needed

Do anyone have a photo of Roman Slabon or information on his service with the Luftwaffe?

Thank you,
Steve
