I found a place crash Bf 110 Wnr.5390

Hello Gents,
As a topic in the study area of potential wrecks air, I found the Bf 110 C-3, Wnr.5390, RN + YL unit FFS B 39 crew; Alfred Schmidt + Wilhelm Mohr+
Place of the plane crash Eylsdorf kreis Arnswalde, and exactly Zühlsdorf (German names of places)23.01.1945.
On-site have been found the skeletal remains of the crew, aircraft and small items that confirmed the type of machine.
In the area will be conducted further research including the exhumation after 15 September , the area is now included in the project "Natura 2000"
After the below link which is information about one member of the crew, the radio operator was probably exhumed in the 50s
I have one question for the individual FFS B 39, it is known that the unit was transferred from the airport Gabert, to Bad Lagensalza in November 1944. Whether there are any information that was part of the unit until January 1945 in Gabert?
Special thanks to Matti Salonen & Michael Fuller
Best Regards
Jarek

I have an earlier incident for Bf 110G-3 WNr. 5390 from 8-Oct-43. Bruchlandung at Larissa, assessed as 15% damaged. Aircraft belonged to 3./NAGr. 2.

Hello Jim and Jarek,

I also think that it should be G-3 rather than C-3 but it is nevertheless an interesting find (Stammkennzeichen as well!), so many thanks for sharing this with us Jarek !

All the best, Marcel

Hi all,
Jim & Marcel thank you for the correction and information.
It is actually a version of G. I do not know from where this mistake.
On the plane crash site found the element that will confirm the version G (100%)
Best Regards,
Jarek

Hi Jarek,
Thanks for sharing this information. Bf 110 G-3 WNr. 5390 was built by Gothaer Waggonfabrik AG in May 1943. How did you determine it was FFS(B) 39? I'm not aware of such a unit.

Regards,
Norbert

Hi Norbert

I would say this is FFS(B)38. The mention of Gabbert & Langensalza are associated with this Unit between July & December 1944

Regards
Tom
