First aircraft attack in the Pacific

On 8/12/41 Hudsons from 1Sq RAAF attacked Japanese ships off Malaya.
I have been able to find that aircraft involved included A16-19 US-B, A16-21 ??-?, A16-26 US-A, A16-82 ??-? and A16-94 US-C.
Can anyone provide more details of this action, including serials and codes of aircraft involved?
Thanks
Peter

Have you checked the Australian archives website ?

You can find ORBs of Australian squadrons here, usually with this kind of detail. Due to the outcome of the Malayan campaign, details might be not available, but I will search there first.

Thanks Laurent. I will try that site again, but I must admit there's an issue between the way my mind works and the way the site works ..... I have much trouble finding anything I look for there.
Cheers

Re: First aircraft attack in the Pacific

You might try to locate the books War Without Glory by J D Balfe (1984, 293 pages), and Glory in Chaos by E R Halle (1989, 480 pages). The former book is readily available on the used market, but may be too broad. The latter book I could not find listed.

Enjoy!

Frank.
