Great link, Kris. Walter's letters home weren't very interesting because the censoring prevented him from saying much. But I found the story very useful for following the assignments and transfers of his unit, Feldwerft-Abt. I/60, from Soltsy to Stalino to Smolensk to Vitebsk to Polotsk to Lublin to East Prussia. Walter made it all the way from 1941 to March 1945 only to disappear in the Konigsberg Kessel.
