Also, 'A.M. Form 78' cards for the following Balkan A.F. Mustang III/IV. fighters:

Re: Spitfire, Mustang 'A.M. Form 78' cards

Gabor:
The Mustangs are:
FB 313 lost on 18 August 1944 unidentified as yet
HB 851 lost with 249Sq on 450301 previously with 260Sq
HB 888 lost with 213Sq on 17 September 1944
KH 627 lost with 112Sq, as GA-B, on 21 November 1944
KH 861 Cat E on 11 March 1945 assigned to 213Sq and resurrected on 27 April 1945.

AM 78s do not have Squadron deployments listed for the BAF Mustangs. Identifications came from the ORBs of each Squadron. Hope this helps a bit.

Re: Spitfire, Mustang 'A.M. Form 78' cards

Thanks Ted,

I know the fate of these Mustangs as well as their final squadron assignment. What I need is their, and those Spits' full production-, delivery- and service history. Their engine serial number would be bonus, as -not all, but most- 205 BG 'A.M. Form 78' cards eg. list the engine A.M. serials on their bottom for the Wellington X., Halifax II., etc. planes in 1944-45 in Italy. Engine serials are critical to ID recovered plane wrecks.)
Thanks,

Gabor

You will not find any of that detail on the AM78 for Mustangs.

Re: Spitfire, Mustang 'A.M. Form 78' cards

Hi guys,
I was aware that there are a lot of discrepancies in data for 205 Group bombers, but I was surprised to see that it is the very much the same for BAF/DAF Mustangs.
Various sources, various results, as You can see:
FB313 (AK-E) 213 Sqn, Balkan Air Force. Shot down while attacking train near Slatina 16.7.44. Pilot 2nd/Lt J. Moore returned later.
HB851 (Ex 260 Sqn, Desert Air Force) 249 Sqn, Balkan Air Force. Hit the ground while attacking train between Zagreb and Varaždin 1.3.45. F/L Muir killed.
HB888 213 Sqn. Previously flew in 5 Sqn SAAF, Desert Air Force. Hit the ground while attacking SM.79, Krepaja, Yugoslavia, 13.9.44. Pilot F/Lt Fairbairn POW.
KH627 (GA-B) 112 Sqn, Desert Air Force, not BAF. Bombed a bridge near Sisak 18.11.44., and was shot down on that mission. Some said that it crashed near Rijeka (Fiume).
KH861 (AK-J) 213 Sqn. Crashed near Karlovac 1.1.45., when F/O Ashley tried to return to Italy from attack on the railway line Zagreb-Varaždin.
And Spitfires:
PA866 683 Sqn. Lost on a mission to Trento 19.5.44.
PA936 683 Sqn. Flew on a mission to Kotor, Mostar, Butmir (Sarajevo) 16.6.44. SOC 18.10.45.
PA910 Coded 'B', 682 Squadron, San Severo, Italy VII.44-45. Possibly later in 40 Sqn SAAF.
PA930 682 Sqn (previously 683 Sqn). Lost on a mission to Udine 23.3.45.
EN658 682 Sqn. SOC 28.2.46.
PL893 683 Sqn. SOC 26.9.46.
