Me109E-4 Hptm Rolf Pingel

Hi,
i see on todays postings on " Falcons Messerschmitt Hangar, " courtesy of Herr David Weiss, a new colour profile showing the Emil of Hptm Rolf Pingel
Gruppe Kdr of I/JG26 1940.
It would appear to show under the mottling camouflage, the Stkz KB+LV ?

Could anybody confirm if this is correct and if so, could the W.Nr be detected from the Stkz!

Any help would be most grateful.

Best regs,
Steve.

Re: Me109E-4 Hptm Rolf Pingel

Hello Steve,

Under the assumption that the colour profile and the Stkz are correct, this would be Bf 109E-4 WNr.5583. This a/c was lost on 23.06.41 I./JG26 N.N., Luftkampf - Absturz, bei Le Touquet - 100% (E-7)

best regards,
Tomislav

The profile is based on this photo:
http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=960

The artist tell me also KB+LV and W.Nr 5583, but I was not sure. On the photo is only "K?+LV" visible. The KB+LV is the most possible variant?

Re: Me109E-4 Hptm Rolf Pingel

Gentlemen, many thanks for all your comments and excellent photos.
It would appear then that this a/c is most likely to be Me109E-7 KB+LV
W.Nr 5583.
From the Stkz is it possible to tie in an approx. delivery to unit, time span? or confirm the full Stkz batch KB+*V.

Best regs,
Steve.

Ps. Also Herr Weiss, any thoughts on a open forum on your fabulous website. For questions and answers?
Perhaps here people can post pictures and ask for help on all " Bf 109 "
