Bf109 pilot Peter Harmel 1940?

Hi guys

Perusing Edmund Blandford's 1997 book TARGET ENGLAND, which purports to contain interviews with former German aircrew, I have come across one PETER HARMEL who allegedly shot down a Hurricane circa July/August 1940.

Also mentioned as a Ju87 pilot is WOLFGANG SCHAUER and Ju87 pilot ARTHUR TIEKER, circa the same period.

Can anyone help identify, please?

Cheers
Brian

Hi guys

It seems that these were fictitious names attached to true accounts!

Cheers

Fictitious names? I would question the veracity of the accounts as well

Hi Chris

I was recently advised this by a colleague who contacted the author when the book was published.

Cheers

Puzzling-why use fictitious names? I never have had cause or reason with my work hence my doubts as to the accounts?
