Ju88 of Ergänzungskampfgruppe 4 (ErgKGr 4) loss 04.40?
Hi all
I am interested in that Ju88 A-1 W.Nr0119 that was recently recovered from Lake Jonvatnet in the summer 2004. Interestingly it carried the codes of U4+TK of Ergänzungskampfgruppe 4 (ErgKGr 4), probably its previous unit but is thought to be operated by KG30. (No real problem there). There is no listing of it as being lost with KG30 but why would it have been? It seems possible it was on a transfer flight and was also lost/running out of fuel having landed at Jonsvatnet, not KG30’s base temporarily KGr100’s with Heinkel 111’s. If it was on a transfer flight which seems possible, would it might have been recorded lost in the Ergänzungskampfgruppe 4 (ErgKGr 4) records and not KG30's? Question. Unfortunately not having the lost lists to hand, is there a record for Ju88 A-1 0119/U4+TK/ErgKGr4 in any of these guises being lost 100% for around April 1940? Just a thought. Regards Mark |

Ju 88
Hi Mark,
unfortunately the losses I posted under the KG 30 losses are all I have for April 1940 and for Ju 88's. But this does not mean there was not a loss. The Files I have from the Bundesarchiv have a gap beteween 21 Mar 1940 to 02 Jun 1940. I would love to know if anyone knowns if there are files regarding those losses and what file numbers they have so I can obtain them from Koblenz. Sorry I could not be of more help, Norbert |
