Information from Werknummers.

Hi,

Is it possible to work out information such as date of manufacture or entry into service using an aircraft's werke nummer?

I would like this information for two Ju 88D-1s.

The details I have are;

F6+NL W/N 430 645
F6+OL W/N 430 356

Both were lost whilst assigned to 3.(F)/122 on 3/7/43 with crews from 3.(F)/123.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Information from Werknummers.

Is there anyway to find out which aircraft 3.(F)/122 had on strength during January 1942? I have seen details from March 42 but nothing earlier?

Re: Information from Werknummers.

Early 1942 the unit was flying a mixture of Ju 88A-5 and Ju 88D-1 aircraft (source: loss reports).

Re: Information from Werknummers.

Thanks Merlin,

Do you have any details on any of these aircraft?

Some examples with type, werke nummer and squadron codes F6+?L would be great!

Did 3.(F)/122 ever fly the D-2 model?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Information from Werknummers.

Thanks Andy that is really useful information.

Do you have the same details for any of the Ju 88D-2 or A-5 aircraft operated by the unit?
Were there any D-2 or A-5 still on strength by the beginning of 1942?

Thanks,

Mike
