Unidentified Aircrew

Again, found misfiled with other non-related photos, anyone have an idea as to who might be in these photos?

Re: Unidentified Aircrew

Hi Chris,

First Photo, guy on the right, with his back to the camera could very well be Walter Nowotny (Jg54 and Jg101).

Regards, Thomas

Thanks Thomas but it has been suggested the man on the right could be Horst Götz

Re: Unidentified Aircrew

Hi Chris,
the colour photo shows from left to right:
Olt Fred Leitner (Nachrichtenoffizier), Olt Günther Wegmann (pilot), Lt Joachim Weber (pilot) and Fw Hans Zeller( Jägerleitstand), all with EK262, later III./JG7.
Earlier, when Wegmann flew the Me110 with III./ZG26, Zeller was often his radio man / tail gunner.
You can find this colour photo in one of the books of the Smith/Creek Classic series about the Me262. In the Manfred Jurleit´s Me262 book (vol.2) you also find the same photo in black and white, but extended to the left , showing also Oberinspektor Grote.

Olt Wegmann, as Staka 9./JG7, was severely wounded in his Me262 on 18.03.45 and had to bail out (he lost his right lower leg). Lt Weber, 11./JG7, was lost on 21.03.45.

KR Karl
