Dear all,
I am looking for additional info on the crash location of 434 Squadron Halifax LK970 at 'Habenhausen' during the 20-21 December 1943 Frankfurt raid. Is this location correct, and what is the nearest town? Thanks for any details, Theo |

Hallo Theo!
I have for LK970, IP-N, of No. 434th Squadron the following villages where the aircraft crashed: Karbach, Holzfeld and Utzenhain. That is west from St. Goar. Best wishes, sincerely yours, Dirk. |

Hello Horst,
Thanks for your suggestion -the a/c was attacked five times by a Nachtjäger some 20 minutes after bombing and exploded some 15 miles south of Koblenz. So Babenhausen does not seem to fit. Cheers, Theo |

Hello Theo,
Can I ask where the name 'Habenhausen' appears? Regards, Bruce

One of my German contacts supplied me with the correct crash location of LK970 this evening: Niedermeilingen, E. of St. Goarshausen.
Cheers, Theo |

Faenor
IP code sounds very unlikely. That code was used by a non operational Bomber Command School. WL was the assigned code for 434Sq Cheers Stig |

Hello,
was the Halifax armed with an single .50BMG in midunder position as the crew have eight men? h. PS Niedermeilingen is more close to Nastätten. h. |
