LUIGI GORRINI

Hi guys

I did post this earlier, but no comment:

"I have been reading the Luigi Gorrini interview on Official I C Company Forum, in which he recalls an incident that occurred in late 1941 when his wingman accidentally shot down a German aircraft approaching Argostoli."

Any further information, please?

Cheers
Brian

Re: LUIGI GORRINI

Hi guys

An update:

It now appears that Gorrini did not shoot down the German aircraft (possibly a Ju52) but his wingman did!

Presumably 85Squadriglia/18Gruppo G.50 or Mc200.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Brian

Re: LUIGI GORRINI

Brian ,

Luft QMs returns of 4-1-42 has that on 15-12-41 a Ju52 of KGrzbv 400 was shot down into the sea off the Greek coast , probaly by an Italian fighter. Crew of Uffz Zarbock missing to dead, perhaps there is more info. to tie this to the one you are looking for,

Regards

Re: LUIGI GORRINI

Thanks Brian

I'm sure that's the one.

Perhaps Matti can confirm crew details?

Cheers

Re: LUIGI GORRINI

Brian the fuller details that I can make out are Ju52 7252 Ga+WX of 2/KGr.zbv 400 lost on Feindflug probaly to an Italian fighter - Ff Uffz. Otto Zarbock, Bf Gef. Wilhelm Rikermann, Bm Uffz.Herbert Glasner (umlaut over a), Bs Gef. Karl Junghofer (umlaut over o) all missing. Change note dated 5-2-43 then has crew of Uffz. Zarbock 'gefallen'. Perhaps Matti can supply more from his NVMs,

Regards
