364th FG claims - June 25, 1944

Hi,

I am looking for which was the German unit involved in an aerial combat with a P-38 Fighter Group, the 25 of June 1944 in the area East of Blois, France.
The 364th FG claims German fighters destroyed and damaged following this combat.

All the best,
Frederic

If these we Bf 109s, then possibly II./JG 2 which lost 6 in a fight with P-38s near Bernay which is some miles southeast of Blois. JG 2 also lost some Fw 190s in the same area in a fight with P-38s.

Do you have a type claimed or time?

Re: 364th FG claims - June 25, 1944

I have just this info from a copy of the 8th Air Force #441 mission’s narrative:

"One Group bounced a flight of 12 plus enemy aircraft flying on the deck near the Loire river and accounted for 8 destroyed and 4 damaged without loss."

Kenn Miller's book gives Me109s and Fw190s destroyed for this date by the 364th FG.

Best regards,
Frederic.

Just to make it even more confused, 133 (Polish) wing had a combat at the very same location a day previously and JG2 was also engaged.
The German losses are also a little bit confused at the period.
