B24 Lady Be Good

The Book 'Lady's Men' and several websites state part of a 20mm cannon shell was found in one of the rocker boxes of the port inner engine of the B24. The books author does not believe this got there following a night fighter attack, are there any nightfighter claims for the 4/5th April 1943 over Italy/N.Africa that might link to this,

Regards
