Gentlemen,

Who is aware of what unit (units) of LF4 was responsible for mine laying in the Volga on July-August 1942?

TIA

My flight logs show mine laying activity in the Volga river in August and September 1942 (so a bit towards the end and after your specified times) by KG 100.

Andreas, thank you.

Definitely mine laying was launched on July 23 and on July 25 first steam tug was sunk by a mine. What day of August is the earliest for mine laying in I/KG100 records?

Andreas, Great thanks!

May I ask one more question, if any fighters opposition is indicated in flugbuchs during these sorties?

Re: Mine laying in the Volga on July-August 1942

Hansgeorg Bätcher's "Leistungsbuch" mentiones "no defense" explicitly for the first two sorties. The third, which by the way needs the date corrected to 29.04.1943 (not 29.03.1943) indicates medium flak but that is it.

Otto Heide's "Flugbuch" does not mention any type of opposition in any of its entries, if there was, he did not write it down.

Waldemar Kreb's "Flugbuch": the date needs to be corrected - it is 23.09.1942, not 27.07.1942. No mentioning of opposition. That must have been a copy/paste error...

Herbert Kuntz's "Leistungsbuch" does not mention any opposition for these sotries.
