Hello,

Worth taking a look at:

https://www.naval-military-press.com...pment-history/

Do you sums on this one before purchasing. Click on "Delivery Info" on top of page for postage rates.

Don't know when the 20% off sale ends, but I wouldn't waste too much time, if you're interested.

Col.

Reviews seem to be very mixed. Suggestions of 3rd rate translation and editing...

Re: Arado Flugzeugwerke: Aircraft and Development History

The translation was an issue outside of Volker's control and is far from ideal. With hindsight, Volker has said to me that he wishes he had submitted his text in his English for subsequent polishing rather than in German and have the text translated in very stilted English as it's a technical subject requiring some depth of underlying knowledge.

I can appreciate the text as it stands might be something which might put off the casual reader but the diehards should be able to extract the required information. At the price being quoted in the offer, it's surely worth the plunge, particularly for those in this country.

Re: Arado Flugzeugwerke: Aircraft and Development History

Clicking on the link in post #13 now takes you to an offer that is now -68% off the RRP (thanks Jukka!). Well worth getting if you want a small compendium of Arado types. And it is quite a small book. Some text is a little tricky, even the 'non-technical' parts, eg '... numerous Ju 52s had broken through simple defensive measures of the defenders ..' That sentence has at least two meanings so probably a good job Volker didn't give us his English version. And it would have cost Jay nothing to get the text quickly proofed and corrected. I used to do an entire Kagero monograph in a single evening...(some of the worst 'English' I've ever attempted to decipher..)

Re: Arado Flugzeugwerke: Aircraft and Development History

Just to clarify, are some things missing from the English language version? I ask because of this reviewer's comment posted at Amazon U.S.: "Oddly, the E.555 flying wing bomber project
and the E.381 parasite fighter project are left out of the chapter discussing unbuilt Arado aircraft."

TIA,
Ed

..amounts to no more than 3-4 pages and those types get a couple of sentences (along with a horrible typo, 'Flugzeugt')

That's similar to 'aircrafts'.
