Mysterious british losses and victories

Hello all

In the book of Donald Caldwell( the JG26 war diary): I quote
25/7/41

"G/C Harry Broadhurst, the Hornchurch station commander, led a flight of four spitfires into France-Broadhurst's three companions were shot down by Bf 109"

Is't real? and by whom? JG2 or JG26? ( nothing for example in book of Jochen Prien:Teil 5)

Somebody knowns about it more?

regards
