Sottotenente Romeo Della Costanza, 1 September 1941

Hello, this pilot was a member of 363a Squadriglia, 150o Gruppo CT in November-December 1940, claiming a victory and a probable over Albania.

He was killed on 1 September 1941 in Albania, according to the Banca Dati dei Caduti e Dispersi. According to http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/italy_costanza.htm, he was killed in an accident in a Mc200.

I would like to have more details about the accident, especially the location and the serial if known. Thanks in advance

PS: there is nothing in the MOW book series.

According to the records of the Tirana airport's command, this pilot - Tenente - was killed during an aerobatic exercise with another aircraft, diving from 2000 m. till ground without recovering. No other detail given.

Re: Sottotenente Romeo Della Costanza, 1 September 1941

Checking my notes I've found that the only C.200 struck off charge by the 363a Sq in the first two weeks of september 1941 was MM 5249, so this was very likely the fighter involved in the crash.

ciao
