U.S. MAQUIS MEMBERS
Boy is this a long shot, but what the heck. I am trying to track down any
USAAF flyers who were in a French Maquis in 1944. My father, a Lancaster rear gunner, fought alongside two Americans - Dan and Ben - in Maquis 15 in the hills west of Toul near Pont-a-mousson in the Lorraine province, Northern France. These men walked out of Germany after their B-17 was shot down. They were in the Maquis July - September 1944 before being picked up by an advanced unit of the American 4th Armoured Division. Also any ideas where to find USAAF websites that might list losses and casualties? Winkie |
