Is this german Luftwaffe?

Hello,
This is a little unusual question but I just got this attached small badge.
I am a little doubtful whether it is Luftwaffe or not and hope someone can clarify this.
I can't find it in any of my books.
Thank you and happy new year and thank you for all your help this year too!!

Christian

Re: Is this german Luftwaffe?

Hi Christian,

This is a lapel badge for Ostpreussen (East Prussia) with the province's symbol, the moose antler. I have its exact twin in my collection.

Re: Is this german Luftwaffe?

It was the emblem of Beobachtungs Abteilung 11, later Beobachtungs Abteilung Afrika.

I have one as part of a group to this Army unit.

Re: Is this german Luftwaffe?

Yes, but if it isn't part of a Luftwaffe grouping, it is impossible to differentiate between the ones worn by East Prussians, and those worn by Luftwaffe personnel.
